It is estimated that there are only between 7-8000 Hector's Dolphins left in the world. A recent study estimated this figure at 12-18k however the methodology has been questioned heavily by New Zealands leading marine mammal experts. This is still in stark contrast to the population of around 30,000 we had only 30 years ago. They are only found around the shores of New Zealand and Akaroa is the only place that you can see / swim or cruise with them on a daily basis. Our dream is to see these numbers grow and we want to ensure that we help in sustaining this endangered population and so donate a portion of every single ticket sold towards the education and research surrounding them 💙 📷 @worldtravelsocial
